I was doing some research on volcanoes and came across volcanic ash. I was amazed at how it covers land like snow. It looks like layers and layers of dirty snow. Unfortunately due to its toxic poison, thousands of people have died because of it. People either get trapped in the ash fall and become a “statue” or die breathing it in. I’m just curious as to whether you can predict an eruption that will result in a large or small ash fall. I would assume that they would be considering they are able to give a time range of when a volcanoe will erupt, although that range could be from a few days to a few months. I’m just amazed at how life is stopped and covered in a huge blanket of ash instead of lava like you would see in movies. I wonder if homes that are being built now are being designed to stand up against eruptions, more so ash than lava.
